The Argentine is one of the lowest paid players at the Italian club

Inter Milan want to improve Lautaro Martinez's contract although negotiations haven't gone well so far. The Argentina striker and his agents are upset that he's one of the lowest-paid players at the club and are demanding an increased salary.

The Italian club are working on it but they want to take out the 111 million euro release clause -- something Lautaro is not willing to negotiate. The two parties are no closer to an agreement at the moment, with Barcelona given regular updates on the situation.

Barça have never hidden their interest in signing Lautaro. They spent months negotiating a deal that fell through in the end because of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite that, the relationship with the player and his people remains good.

Conversations have continued and the current sporting directorate at Camp Nou wants to keep things fluid and open for the incoming president, who will likely to appoint a new sporting directorate. Barça are well-positioned.

Lautaro earns around two million euros annually at Inter. Inter have offered him six million on the condition the release clause is removed. Lautaro's said no and is waiting for their next move.

The striker is clear that he wants to move to a bigger club in the coming years and he feels 111 million euros is an acceptable clause.
