Lautaro Martinez's move to Barcelona moves closer
The clubs are close to reaching a deal for 60m plus two Barca players
Barca have started the final assault for Lautaro Martinez. They know the operation is going well and a deal could be sealed by May, even though it will not be formalised and announced until later. After weeks of tough negotiation, inter Milan are ready to sell the forward. They would get two Barca players to sweeten a deal which will be worth his 111 million euro release clause, minus the value of the players exchanged.
Barca see the deal as a strategic signing and he will likely play with Luis Suarez in many games. They have beaten Madrid, City, United, PSG and Chelsea to his signing. In Italy they say Barca will pay around 60 million plus two players, having negotiated down from 90 million and one player.
Arturo Vidal is likely going to Inter but the club would like to negotiate this deal apart from the Lautaro operation.
Barca will not announce anything until they can travel and go to Milan after the coronavirus crisis is over.
