Laporta targets Mateu Alemany & Alaba as part of electoral campaign
Joan Laporta wants the ex-Valencia general manager and the Bayern defender, per RAC1
Joan Laporta has still not officially revealed if he will stand in the upcoming elections to become the new Barcelona president, although he is working on his project.
According to RAC, he has contacted Mateu Alemany, the former general manager at Valencia, to sound out if he would be keen to take on a similar role at Barça if he's elected as president.
Alemany's successful spell at Valencia ended over differences with owner Peter Lim over signings and the day-to-day running of the club.
Alemany has been linked with Mallorca and Atletico Madrid since leaving Los Che. Now, he could have the chance to move to Camp Nou if Laporta is successful in the elections, which are likely to be held at the beginning of January.
Meanwhile, RAC1 also report that Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is wanted by Laporta. The Austrian international has ended negotiations with Bayern over a new deal and is available for free next summer.
