Laporta's request to Raiola to try and bring Haaland to Barça

The president and the Italian superagent have a good relationship

Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s meeting with Mino Raiola gave a lot to talk about. Laporta wanted to get in a good position for Erling Haaland. In Italy they say Laporta has asked Raiola to lower his commission demands to help Barcelona sign the Norwegian. La Gazzetta dello Sport say Barcelona want to save up to 50 per cent of the commission to help buy the player.

The encounter was cordial because Laporta and Raiola have a good relationship, since Ibrahimovic arrived at Barcelona a few years ago. Raiola has always seen Barcelona as an opportunity for Haaland, given their good understanding.

The transfer fee is doable for the Catalans but they need to clear wages off their salary bill and save on the commission. The key is getting rid of Philippe Coutinho. Laporta is looking for solutions; he believes Haaland to be key to the club’s future.
