Laporta promises Aguero is the first of many Barcelona signings in June
The Argentine striker penned a two-year deal at Camp Nou on Monday
Sergio Aguero became Barcelona's first signing of the summer on Monday but he will not be the last, president Joan Laporta promised.
After passing a medical and signing a two-year deal following his decision to leave Manchester City, Aguero was presented to the press at Camp Nou.
"Welcome to Barcelona," Laporta grinned. "It's an honour ot have you as a Barça player. You've always been wanted by the club for your quality and the way you play. You have that style that fits our team.
"Your arrival is exciting, like the tango, because we know you're going to score a lot of goals. I'm grateful that a player of your quality wants to come to Barça. When we see a player of your class make such an effort to come, we're honoured. The fans will appreciate that from the off."
In a nod to further signings, Laporta continued: "We signed (Aguero) because he's an exceptional player (not to keep Lionel Messi). Obviously, we also want Messi to stay. (Aguero) is the first of the signings you're going to hear of in June."
