Laporta: We're left with the joy of what Aguero could have been at Barça
The Barça president appeared alongside Aguero as he retired on Wednesday
Barcelona president Joan Laporta was also emotional on Wednesday as Sergio Aguero was forced to retire from football.
Laporta appeared alongside Aguero in an event at Camp Nou as the striker confirmed a heart condition meant he had been advised to hang up his boots.
"Sergio, I think, as we just saw, we are left with deep joy and excitement with what you could have been here at Barcelona, but anything you need with your condition we are here at your disposal," Laporta said.
"You will be remembered not just as a player, but as a friend. A new journey awaits, and I am sure it will be just as successful. You deserve it."

Laporta added: "We would like you to have arrived at Barça earlier. You were the envy of all supporters when you were at Atletico Madrid. I am sure the next chapter of your life will be very successful."
