The Barça president spoke to the club's TV channel on Thursday

Joan Laporta did not hide in his extensive interview with Barça TV on Thursday, in which he reviewed all the current affairs at the Catalan club.

One of them, perhaps the most complicated, being events on the pitch. The Barça president did not hesitate to describe the elimination in the Champions League as "a blow", although he did want to show optimism with the performance of the team coached by Xavi in LaLiga, a competition that Barça lead.

"The Champions League exit was a blow," he said. "It hit us hard. We had just recovered some joy and were doing well but the Champions League was a blow.

"We have survived it, though, because our priority is LaLiga. We want LaLiga. We need to win trophies. We have the best coach in the world.

"In addition to his knowledge of the game, which is very deep, it's always interesting to listen to him. He is aligned with the club. It's great to have a coach like Xavi."
