LaLiga chief Tebas: Laporta's Negreira explanation is not convincing

Laporta spoke at the league's assembly in Madrid on Wednesday

"Laporta's explanations were not convincing." That is the most forceful phrase that Javier Tebas said after LaLiga's extraordinary assembly on Wednesday.

The president of LaLiga considers that Barcelona chief Laporta's explanations are not enough.

"The president of Barcelona had 20 minutes to give his explanations, which have been a summary of Monday's press conference," Tebas said.

"We have not interrogated Barça, each one has given his point of view. Laporta insisted that Barça never wanted to buy referees. The other clubs have said that the payments are not usual and should be investigated."

The LaLiga president wanted to stress that it was a "debate" rather than an interrogation and praised the way in which everyone behaved.

"I would like to highlight the politeness of the debate," he added. "I asked for it at the beginning. It wasn't the right thing to do to be grandiose. It was clear that Laporta was not convincing with his explanations."
