The young striker will be a key member of Victor Valdes squad and could even appear for Barça B if needed

Ansu Fati will continue his association with Fútbol Club Barcelona. The young striker's new contract, which runs until 2022 with an option of a further two, includes a €100m buyout clause.

Fati's renewal was considered a priority by La Masia staff. After making a huge effort to secure llaix's future with the club, the next objective was to ensure Fati followed his lead. The agreement was signed last week and this afternoon it was finalised in the offices at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. Silvio Elías, Jose Mari Bakero and Guillermo Amor were all in attendance whilst the rest of the directors are in Japan.

Fati has begun preseason with Barça B and was the man of the match in his first appearance. The current plan is for him to form part of Victor Valdes Juvenil A side and make the odd appearance for the B side when needed.

The young striker has been at La Masia since 2012 when he signed from Sevilla at the age of 10. He's played through all the ranks in the academy and finished as the Juvenil A's top scorer last season with 15 goals.
