Konrad de la Fuente will play for Barça B in season opener
The winger's not called up for the first team game against Getafe
Konrad de la Fuente will strengthen Barcelona's B team this weekend as they kick off the new season in the third tier of Spanish football.
The United States winger was not included in the Barça squad for Saturday's game against Getafe and will instead be involved when Barça B host Nastic de Tarragona on Sunday.
Konrad's inclusion adds an important attacking threat to Garcia Pimienta's side. He was one of the stars of the playoff campaign in the summer when Barça eventually lost in the final.
After featuring in two friendlies during preseason, Konrad has not played for Barça's first team again. He has been training with them still and in matchday squads but hasn't had any minutes.
In that sense, the chance to play for the B team this weekend will do both him and the reserves good as they look to start with three points at the Johan Cruyff stadium.
