The Marseille winger spoke about leaving Barça and life in France

Konrad de la Fuente says he doesn't know what Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman thinks of him after leaving for Marseille in the summer.

Konrad, 20, came off the bench in the goalless draw with Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend and is enjoying his time in France playing under Jorge Sampaoli.

"I don't know what Koeman's opinion is of me," he told the journalist Gerard Romero. "I was with the first team for the whole season and hardly played at all. But I learned a lot and I am happy to have trained with the best in the world, so I will never forget it.

"It was me that decided to leave Barcelona. For half a season I was speaking with my family and agents about what would be best for my future. Being realistic, having valuable minutes in the first team is difficult because it's Barça, I am certain that at Barça it wouldn't be like it is now at Marseille."

The United States international says preseason was tough at Marseille, though, as he was put through his paces in a much tougher regime than at Barcelona.

"In preseason we trained at 8am, I was getting up at 7am every day," he said. "The sessions were 2.5 hours plus an hour in the gym. There were no days off and we had games midweek. It was difficult!"
