The Man City coach said Barça would have won two or three Champions Leagues with the Brazilian

Ronald Koeman responded to comments from Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola that Barcelona would have won many more Champions League if they'd kept hold of Neymar.

"It's always important to have the best players in the world in your team," Koeman said. "They showed when they were together (Neymar and Barça) that they could achieve big things, but that's not the case now.

"We work with the players we have, who are very good and have shown that we can fight (for trophies). You never know if having the best players guarantees (success), although your chances improve. But, for me, the past doesn't count."

Guardiola had said: "If Neymar had stayed at Barcelona, they would have won two or three Champions League [trophies] more. Him, [Lionel] Messi and [Luis] Suarez were the best up front. He makes football a pleasure."

Neymar's future is once again linked with Barcelona. The Paris Saint-Germain forward is out of contract in 2022 and the French club could sell this summer if he doesn't renew.
