Koeman is back in Barcelona and wants to meet with Bartomeu and Messi
The new Barça manager spent a few days in Amsterdam and now must sort out Messi's future
Ronald Koeman has returned to Barcelona after a few days in Amsterdam and is walking into the eye of the storm. Lionel Messi, his club captain and the man he wants to lead his project, has made it clear he wants to leave Barça.
Koeman actually met with Leo before he went away and heard of his star player's unhappiness. If he hoped that time would be a good healer, he was wrong. The current Barça board are now at loggerheads with Messi as they refuse to let him leave on a free transfer believing his exit clause has already expired. Koeman would like to meet both sides and try to find a solution that suits all parties.
He will meet with Bartomeu to see what the plans are for Barça's 2020/21 season and the latest update on the Messi situation. Koeman is also keen to meet up with Leo again to see if he can resolve any doubts he may have, despite Messi's position being 'irreversible'.
