Koeman: I had the feeling that Real Madrid were more favoured than Barça

Ronald Koeman will never leave anyone indifferent. The Dutch coach has now waded into the controversy generated by Louis Van Gaal's comments on Argentina's World Cup win, a competition he claimed was 'premeditated.'

Koeman was asked at a press conference about his compatriot's statements that caused a big controversy in the country. The players took a stand against Van Gaal's accusations that the competition was set up to be won by Argentina.

Now the national team coach in his homeland, Koeman followed his players' line by taking a stand against Van Gaal's statements: "I wouldn't have said it, but you have to respect all opinions."

However, the ex-Barcelona boss was keen to compare the accusations with his experience in LaLiga: "I lived through times in Spain when I had the feeling that Real Madrid were more favoured than Barça, but you can't really prove it, so it's better not to say it."

The Dutch coach was in charge of the Azulgrana between 2020 and 2021. The team's poor results, accompanied by strong criticism of the style of play, resulted in the sacking of the coach, who was unable to complete his second season in the Camp Nou dugout.
