The Kessié-Brozovic exchange between Barça & Inter on table for summer
The deal may not be possible in January but will be revisited at the end of the season
Barcelona are probing various options to get around the LaLiga salary limit and be able to strengthen the squad with players who could be a better fit for the team's style.
The Blaugrana have already positioned themselves favorably in the Memphis-Carrasco exchange -- although Atlético is vetoing it for now -- and also welcome a possible swap with Inter between Kessié and Brozovic.
This last operation looks complicated, too, though, given how advanced the January market is, but the deal could remain open for the summer.
The possibility of the exchange arose through intermediaries close to the two clubs, who probed about the availability fo the two players.
Barça did not have any sporting qualms, quite the contrary, although they ruled out forcing the situation because they are very satisfied with Kessie's professionalism.
Inter promised to study the issue, although they believe that the valuation of the players is different, so Barça should contribute another player or pay some financial compensation on top. The agreement between clubs was not impossible, but it is not far enough down the line to do so this January unless things precipitate.
Barça have somewhat frozen the situation due to Kessié's refusal to leave the club this season. Another thing will be at the end of the campaign.
If the midfielder continues without having a leading role in the team, he could open the doors to leaving and he knows that he will have more offers than just Inter.
From there, he will decide his sporting destiny, whether it is with an exchange or not. But Barça do not close the door to an exchange with Inter for Brozovic, a player they consider interesting, even if not until the summer.
The Barça sporting committee rate Brozovic as a high-level player who could play in various positions in midfield.
He can take on the role of organiser and presses well defensively. He is an experienced player, physically powerful and with good vision of the game. His competitive level is also valued. Everything is open for now or for the future.
