Juventus and Atletico authorise Morata's move to Barcelona
The striker wants Camp Nou loan but Barça must make space on wage bill
Alvaro Morata's situation is opening up. Juventus said he would stay at the club this month but that could change as they close in on the signing of Fiorentino striker Dusan Vlahovic for 75 million euros plus add ons.
Barcelona coach wants Spain attacker Morata to strengthen is forward line. With Ansu Fati injured, Ousmane Dembele's future in the air and a lack of confidence in Memphis Depay and Luul de Jong, Xavi wants another No.9.
Powerful, quick, versatile and a good finisher, Morata is keen to come to Barça, too. Not just that, but he has told his agent Juanma Lopez to do all he can to secure an agreement.
The problem, as ever, is Barça's wage bill. They need to make room, which means exits or wage reductions, to be able to affront any new signings this month.
One thing that could enable Morata's arrival is the Dembele situation, if he renews or if he agrees to leave. And seeing how things have gone recently, six days doesn't seem enough to reach an agreement.
In any case, both Juventus and Atletico Madrid (who still own the player's rights, he's on loan in Italy) have given the green light to the deal.
