Juve defender De Ligt: A lot of things can change in three months
The Dutch centre-back has been frequently linked with a move to Barcelona
In December, Matthijs de Ligt's agent Mino Raiola sent a strong message: "Matthijs is ready for a new step -- he thinks that as well," Raiola said. The comments alerted other clubs, including Barcelona.
Barça were already keen on De Ligt when he signed for Juve, who made a huge effort to sign him. They made him one of the club's top earners on €8m annually.
Since Raiola's message, the rumours about the Dutch international have not stopped. And the player's latest comments won't change that.
Speaking to Dutch media Rondo, De Ligt said: "What Raiola said was three months ago, a lot can change in that time... At the moment I am completely focused on this season."
The defender is grateful for the role Juve are giving him, especially now with other centre-backs in the squad experiencing fitness issues.
"I notice that the club are giving me more responsibility," he added. "Chiellini and Bonucci are often injured, so there's more pressure on my shoulders. I realise I can have an important role."
