Junior Firpo set to join Leeds from Barcelona in €15 million deal

The left-back will make the move to the English side in the coming days

Barcelona defender Junior Firpo is set to join Premier League side Leeds United save any late twists, SPORT can confirm. The left-back will sign his contract once the clubs have agreed on a deal, which could happen within the next 48 hours.

As revealed by SPORT, Milan was Junior's preferred move, but the effort made by Leeds since they burst onto the scene has convinced the former Real Betis man to make the switch to England. Barça will make around €15 million on the transfer.

Barça have received a number of offers from the Premier League for Junior. However, while the club were keen to sell to an English side, Junior preferred a move to Italy, although Milan's offer was only a loan.

Leeds have managed to persuade the player otherwise. Mundo Deportivo first revealed their interest last week and director of football Victor Orta and coach Marcelo Biesla have sold the project to Junior, who wants regular football again.

Therefore, talks with Milan have been put on the backburner and the player has said 'yes' to Leeds. It will be a good deal for Barça, who need to bring in money.
