The Mexican right-back cannot play for the club due to missing the registration window

Julián Araujo, the right-back who until now belonged to Los Angeles Galaxy, landed in Barcelona, as planned, on Thursday.

The Mexican internationnal will finalise his transfer to Barça in the next few hours, with a contract that will tie him to the Catalan club until June 2026.

Barça and Los Angeles Galaxy reached an agreement for the transfer of the right-back in the January transfer window, but 18 seconds prevented FIFA from accepting the player's registration.

This was confirmed by Mateu Alemany a few days ago: "He is a player that we have been following for some time but due to circumstances, because of a failure in the FIFA system, it was not possible to close the deal. The famous 18 seconds. He was a player who came for the second team. We are counting on him and we are looking for a solution, via the Court of Arbitration for Sport -- or the player can play in (another) team for five months and then join the club."

For the moment, Barcelona have not made the signing of Julián Araujo official. It should be remembered that although it has been made official, the player will not be able to play for the club until at least 1 July, when the transfer window reopens, pending the outcome of the CAS appeal, of course. However, he can start training.
