Jordi Alba: I respect the fans but they have to respect me

The left-back put his fingers in his ears as he celebrated a goal that was ruled out

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba said that fans must respect him. He celebrated a goal which was later ruled out by VAR by putting his fingers in his ears, after some whistles from the Camp Nou during the 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.

"The celebration, nah, all good," said Alba. "Nobody likes that the fans are going against them. I respect the fans but the fans have to respect me. Nobody likes to be whistled, and less so after 15 minutes at 0-0. It's true that we have to improve a lot of things but the attitude is good."

It was a move that Coutinho pulled back in the day. Alba played well as Barcelona won, having surpassed Junior Firpo in Quique Setien's schemes.
