De Jong & Aitana Bonmati named Barça's players of the season
Over 5,000 fans and an expert panel voted for the winners on Wednesday
Frenkie de Jong and Aitan Bonmati have been voted as Barcelona's players of the season for the 2020/21 campaign, the club announced on Wednesday.
More than 5,000 Barça fans around the world voted for the finalists, before a jury of directors and journalists voted on the final winner.
Along with De Jong, Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen were in the final three for the men's team, with Lieke Martnes and Alexia Putellas in the top three for the women's team along with Bonmati.
De Jong, in his second season with the club, took a huge step forward last term under Dutch coach Ronald Koeman as Barça won the Copa del Rey and finished third in La Liga.
Bonmati, meanwhile, continued her brilliant development and was a key player as Barça won the treble, even scoring in the Champions League final against Chelsea.
