Joan Laporta: With Raphinha 'jogo bonito' is back
The president was delighted to welcome the new Brazilian winger to Barcelona
Joan Laporta spoke at the presentation of Brazilian winger Raphinha as a new Barcelona player and said he was very happy to be bringing him in.
“For us it’s very exciting,” said Laporta. “All the golden eras we’ve lived through at the club, there’s always been a Brazilian. Raphinha brings us back to that lineage of Brazilians. We need to bring back the joy, the hope, the magic.
“Jogo bonito is b ack. That is very important for the club. Xavi insisted a lot to us that he wanted him. We are very grateful for his desire to play for Barcelona. That has been key.”
Laporta also highlighted the work of Alemany, Cruyff and Raphinha’s agent Deco in bringing about the deal.
