The president took four days out to disconnect ahead of the season

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has taken four days of holiday to disconnect from the whirlwind of recent days. This morning, accompanied by his friend and a director at the club, Xavier Puig (female football director), he arrived in Ibiza. There he will enjoy some days on the sea on a yacht, invited by some friends.

This small break in his responsibilities as Barca chief arrives after one of the most painful episodes in the club’s history ends; the departure of Lionel Messi. Laporta seemed affected by it during the Joan Gamper trophy presentation.

Laporta is a big fan of Ibiza and the Costa Brava too, having spent lots of time in S’Agaro, Cadaques, and other areas. He wants to take some holiday now before the season starts, on Sunday for Barca, at home in their first game with fans since the pandemic began.
