The Barcelona president says he is 'living realistically but is a romantic'

Four appearances in four days for Joan Laporta. The Barcelona president was at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s presentation and was asked about Erling Haaland.

“We’re occupied with the immediate present,” said the chief. “We have a season that’s been complicated and we want to keep fighting for La Liga and the Europa League. We’re focused on that. Players that are interesting, the sports department deals with that. We’re living with realities, although I am a romantic.”

Laporta was happy with Auba’s arrival.

“We’re bringing in a top-level player who made an effort to be here. We have to be grateful. When our finances are healthy we have to help those who have helped Barca.

“He’s 32 and he has goals. I’m very proud of the football department with Mateu Alemany at it’s head, the technical secretary with Jordi Cruyff and Deco.”
