First Joan Gamper Trophy for Memphis, Emerson and Agüero

On Sunday night (9pm), FC Barcelona will face off against Juventus in the 56th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy. The encounter will be held at the Estadi Johan Cruyff instead of Camp Nou, as was originally planned, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Ronald Koeman's Barcelona come into the tie following friendlies against Nàstic de Tarragona (4-0), Girona (3-1), Stuttgart (3-0) and Salzburg (1-2). It will be their final friendly match before next weekend's curtain raiser against Real Sociedad, due to be played on Sunday 15 August (8pm).

Sergio Agüero and Emerson Royal will wear the famous blaugrana jersey for the first time in their first Joan Gamper Trophy, after just one week of training with their new team mates following their participation in this summer's Copa América. It will also be Memphis' first Gamper, although it won't be the first time he wears a Barça shirt, having already played for the club against Girona and Stuttgart. Memphis, Emerson and Agüero posed for a photo with the Joan Gamper Trophy for the club's official channels.

The club's fourth summer signing, Eric García, will need to wait until next summer to play in his first Joan Gamper Trophy. He ended up on the losing side in Saturday's gold medal match against Brazil, in which ex-Barça forward Malcom scored the decisive goal.
