Jean-Clair Todibo says goodbye to Barça fans after Benfica move
The French defender posted a short statement online following Portugal switch
Jean Clair Todibo has said goodbye to Barcelona fans in a short statement on social media after joining Benfica on loan on Deadline Day.
The French defender could yet have a future at Camp Nou if the Portuguese club don't take up their 20 million euro option to buy but wanted to say something anyway.
He wrote: "I would like to thank all the supporters for the support I have received throughout my stay at the club, from the moment I signed my first contract to my first minutes at Camp Nou.
"I also want to thank my formidable teammates. It's been a pleasure and a dream to play for Barcelona. The moment's arrived to say goodbye to continue developing and take on new challenges as a player. I hope to see you very soon on the pitch. Thanks, everyone!"
The message has drawn a lot of attention because, while he's gone on an initial loan, he wrote it as if he has joined Benfica on a permanent deal already.
