Javier Mascherano: I wouldn't dare offer Messi advice about his future
The former Barça defender spoke about his ex-teammate's future on Wednesday
Speaking in his new role as an ambassador for La Liga, Javier Mascherano said he would never dare offer Lionel Messi advice about his future.
Messi, 33, is out of contract at Barcelona in the summer and has not yet decided whether he will stay at Camp Nou or look for a new challenge elsehwere.
Mascherano, who played for Barcelona between 2010 and 2018, says Messi still seems the same despite the speculation surrounding his future.
"He seems fine, beyond the fact Barcelona aren't having their best moment," he said after being unveiled as La Liga's new ambassador.
"His body language and his performances haven't changed, they're the same as they have been for 15 seasons."
And asked if he would give him any advice, he added: "I would never dare give any advice to Leo. They're personal decisions (regarding his future at Barcelona) that he must make with his family.
"As a friend, I will support the decision that he makes."
