The Dutchman spoke to AS after heading to Valencia
Former Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, who was in Ter Stegen's shadow for three years at Barcelona, moved to Valencia earlier this summer. Meanwhile Neto went the other way for the same price.
Cillessen left in search of minutes and believes he will thrive at Valencia. He spoke to AS. "I don't miss anything," said Cillessen. "I've only been here three weeks but for me Valencia has everything. There I didn't play. Ter Stegen is a great goalkeeper who was getting better. I had three good years there but I needed to play and I want to play, not just train."
Cillessen says this is not a step back in his career. "Valencia called me and I said yes, I want to come. It was easy. For me going to Valencia is a step forward in my career because what I want is to play after three years on the Barca bench, although the coach decides."
