PSG and Barcelona are negotiating over Neymar with the idea a loan and an option to buy. The option would only be obligatory if another player is included going the other way to lower the final price of the deal. The decision is in the hands of the Parisian club.
The pressure from Neymar has been key to opening up the chance of a deal. During the tour of China the club decided to get rid of him and try to put the episode behind them.
PSG want to recover the most part of their investment in Neymar (222 million), and are looking for around 180m. For that to be possible the formula would be a loan with a buying option from July 2020.
But Barcelona want to include a player to lower the price. The only players that work are Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic. The Croatian nearly moved last summer but in the end stayed.
PSG are willing to sign Rakitic who could count as 50 to 60 million euros. The Croatian also has some interest from Italy, and it is unlikely he will go to the Premier League.
