Ivan Rakitic revealed how close he and his family were to being caught up in the terrible terrorist attacks on August 17 in Barcelona. His wife Raquel Mauri ‘saved’ the Croatian and their children from the event.
“I was very close to the recent terrorist attack in Barcelona. I went to the centre of town with my family and we were heading to the place the attack occurred. I wanted to go there but my wife told me that it was a good day and it was better that the kids played in the park by our house. Thank God I listened. We were three or four minutes away from where this horror occurred. We sat in the car and headed home when my mobile started ringing. It was family and friends starting to call to find out how we were, the attack had just happened,” he told 24Sata.
