Juve's interest in Isco could leave the path clear for Barça with Rabiot

Time favours Barcelona with Adrien Rabiot. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is out of contract in June and from January is free to talk to other clubs. In addition, other circumstances, such as Isco's situation, could favour Barça, too.

Isco's relationship with new Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari has left his future in the air. That's where Juventus could come in, who have always been keen on the Spanish international. That move would favour Barça, as Juve are one of the other clubs also pushing for Rabiot. If, as has been reported in Italy, Isco become the Serie A leader's priority, Barça would lose a competitor in the race to sign Rabiot.

PSG's frustration with the player and his entourage -- above all his mother, Veronique, who's also his agent -- has led the French club to look at alternatives. Le Parisien say the club have almost given up on extending his deal and are thinking about selling him for around 10 million euros in January.

That possibility has also been reported in Italy and Juve were keen. Tuttosport said there was even an agreement with his agent. But Isco's situation could change things for the Italian giants. Above all because it's unlikely Juve will move for both players.

Rabiot LATEST

Rabiot LATESTThe frustration with Rabiot is growing at PSG. The latest episode came against Liverpool. The Frenchman was left on the bench and did not come on until the 84th minute.

In his homeland they say he did not take being left out well and had an argument with coach Thomas Tuchel. It was even speculated that he would be sent to the stands, but he was named on the bench and did come on in the end.

Before the game, Tuchel cited football reasons for leaving him out: "It's a tactical decision. I want to play with Marquinhos, Kimpembe and Thiago. It's not a message. All those that start games are important, as are those that come on. Adrien is with us."

The noise around Rabiot's not new. He's also been someone with a strong personality. Capable of criticising Ibrahimovic, of refusing to be a standby for the World Cup, of refusing to play certain positions...

But Rabiot's a midfielder who is just 23, with a special ability for passing. Barça sporting director Eric Abidal is a big fan, he's the person at the club most behind the signing. And PSG know that.

If Barça do sign him, he won't come completely free even though he's out of contract. The number of offers he has means he can demand a big wage and a succulent signing on fee.
