The ironic message from Koeman's agency directed at Barça's Laporta

The message has since been deleted but the damage was already done

Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke to the press on Friday to analyse the situation at the club, but he didn't calm the doubts surrounding Ronald Koeman's future.

"Maximum respect and admiration for Koeman, who has a contract in vigour and we've planned to meet next week to make a decision (on his future)," he said.

"We're assessing the season, he has a contract and we have a very direct relationship. We're negotiating to see what (ideas) we share and we're on a good path."

Laporta also said "don't rule Ronald out" when asked if Xavi Hernandez could replace him.

However, the Barça president's comments don't seem to have gone down well with Koeman's agency, Wasserman, who posted an ironic tweet soon after, clearly directed at Laporta.

It's since been deleted but it said: "Imagine: I want to marry you, but I have doubts. Give me two weeks to find a better partner… If I can’t find the right person, we will get married anyway!"

The tweet was related to talks between Laporta and Koeman this week regarding the Dutch coach's future. The president supposedly told the manager he wanted time to find a replacement and if he couldn't find one he would stick with him.
