The Italians want to extend his deal and increase his release clause

Aware that striker Lautaro Martinez is wanted by many clubs, among the FC Barcelona, Inter Milan are keen to tie down the Argentine striker to a new deal.

The terms of his current contract feature a release clause which would allow him to leave for 111 million euros in the first 15 days of July.

According to reports in 'Corriere dello Sport', Inter, therefore, are working on new terms to extend his stay at the San Siro to 2023 and increase the release clause.

Inter are ready to make a huge effort to hold on to Lautaro, who's emerged as a key player in Antonio Conte's side this season.

He has scored 16 goals in 27 official games across all competitions, two fewer than his teammate Romelu Lukaku, who is Inter's top scorer.

Inter are aware of Barça's interest for next season. He tops a list of forwards the Catalans have targetted as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who at 33 doesn't have many years left at Camp Nou.
