Lionel Messi was at Camp Nou on Tuesday night to watch Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Eibar.
The Argentine star has been at home in his native Rosario for Christmas but flew back to Barcelona on Tuesday and did not want to miss the match.
He was not in the squad because of a problem with his ankle, as Ronald Koeman said before the game.
His place in the XI was taken by Antoine Griezmann as Barca set up in the 3-4-3 they used against Real Valladolid but that changed after the break as they struggled to break down the Basque side.
In the end, they needed substitute Ousmane Dembele to level Kike Garcia’s opener.
