The Barça captain praised Alves, who is doing well for Juve in Italy

Iniesta was a team-mate of the Brazilian for eight years at Camp Nou

Dani Alves has not been replaced since he left Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez said last week he'd have the Brazilian back at Camp Nou.

What does Andres Iniesta think?

"It’s not that I want him or don’t want him [back] next season, but it’s a situation which changed. I wouldn’t swap any of my teammates for him,” the Barça captain said on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League game against Alves' Juventus' side.

PRAISE FOR ALVES

However, Iniesta did have praise for Alves, who was his team-mate for eight years, between 2008 and 2016, before leaving for Juve last summer.

“I think Dani is one of the best foreign signings the club has ever made -- for performances; for everything he gave the club,” Iniesta added.

“And that doesn't change. But he took a different path and he’s doing really well in Italy. With the squad we have we have to be 200 percent behind everyone."

Alves left the club on a free transfer and Barça have had problems at right-back ever since. Sergi Roberto is not a natural replacement and Aleix Vidal, after struggling for form, picked up an injury.
