Ilaix Moriba in the Spain pre-list for the Olympic Games
The Barca midfielder is joined by Mingueza, Collado and Riqui
Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba is on Luis de la Fuente’s pre-list of 60 players who could appear for Spain at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, 2021. He has won Ronald Koeman’s confidence this season and is getting first team minutes.
Barcelona also have Oscar Mingueza, Riqui Puig and Alex Collado on the list. The list will be shortened and officialised on June 30, and it will have 18 players plus four reserves in case of injury.
Ilaix has played for the U17s seven times. This season he’s played nine league games for Barca, three in the Copa and another in the Champions League.
At the Olympics Spain are in a group with Argentina, Egypt and Australia. Two go through to the next round, the quarter finals.
The age limit has risen to 24 years because it was postponed last year. Normally only three players in the squad can be over 23 years of age.
