Felix and Cancelo have made a flying start to life at the club but could cost over €100m

They say you should avoid falling in love with a loan player at all costs, but Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix have already stolen the hearts of FC Barcelona fans. And according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the club are working on finding out how much it would cost to sign them both on loan. The total figure would be in excess of €100 million.

Joao Félix and Joao Cancelo have been the two star signings of this transfer window. Although they arrived on loan, their adaptation to the team and to Xavi's idea of play has been immediate and they have already won over the fans with their football. However, Barça will have to dig deep into their pockets to keep them next season.

Cancelo, more affordable

In the case of the Portuguese full-back, the information coming from Manchester City points to a price of around €25 million, according to the aforementioned source. This would be a very affordable price in the market.

Cancelo, who is under contract until 2027, has a foot and a half out of the Etihad and his departure from England could be a more feasible route than that of the striker. Pep Guardiola already loaned him to Bayern last season and it has once again become clear that he is not in his plans.

Joao Félix, big fee

A little closer to Barcelona, things are not as easy as with Atletico as with City. On the 'Colchonero' side of Madrid, they want to recover a large part of the investment for Joao Felix and would ask for around €80 million to let him leave permanently. This is another matter.

Atletico Madrid paid €126 million for his transfer from Benfica in 2019, and despite the ongoing problems with coach Diego Simeone, they are keen to get the biggest 'cut' possible for his departure. He is under contract until 2029.
