How Barcelona's squad numbers are shaping up for 2019-20 season

As things stand, only 16 and 24 are free for any new signings

The signings of Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Neto this summer have seen some changes among Barcelona's squad numbers.

Carles Aleña has taken the No.19 shirt on to allow Frenkie de Jong to take the No.21 shirt. The La Masia graduate said in Japan that he was happy to give up No.21, but that he was angry with the board for not telling him they had promised De Jong the number.

Griezmann has taken the No.17, which was left free by Jeison Murillo, while goalkeeper Neto has inherited No.13 from Jasper Cillessen, who has joined Valencia.

In addition, Moussa Wague is expected to be given the No.24 shirt when his promotion to the first team is confirmed.

Therefore, the only number currently free is No.16. It seems that will be the number for the new left-back, whether that is Real Betis' Junior Firpo, Augsburg's Philipp Max or another player.

AND IF NEYMAR JOINS?

The only thing which could provoke a revolution among the squad numbers this season would be the arrival of Neymar. The Brazilian attacker wears No.10 at Paris Saint-Germain, but at Barça he was No.11, which right now is held by Ousmane Dembele.
