Hector Bellerin wants to come and the club are desperate to sign him

Talks will begin this week, there's no rush, but Barcelona are optimistic

The battle to sign Hector Bellerin is about to begin. And Barça have marked out their strategy keeping in mind the player is ready to return to the club. This week, they will make contact. And the idea is to offer a decent transfer fee and a number of variables to convince Arsenal to sell. It will not be easy, but the London club could open the doors to a transfer.

Barça are clear that Bellerin will cost and they will have to invest. They're convinced, though, that he's the ideal right-back for now and for the coming seasons. Arsenal don't want to listen to offers below 40 million euros, but Barça won't reach that amount, although it could if you include they variables they will add to the deal. They believe the offer will be sufficient to convince Arsenal to negotiate, with final details and an agreement then to be thrashed out in the coming weeks.

Bellerin is Barcelona's priority, but there's no rush. They know time is in their favour. Also, it would be better for the Catalan side to finalise the deal in July as part of the new financial year. That doesn't mean things won't move this week, even though it's expected the talks will drag on. In fact, Barça have still not made an official offer, given they've been waiting for Arsenal to finish their season and Arsene Wenger to decide his future.

Wenger's new two-year deal make things more complicated because he considers Bellerin one of his works of art, but Arsenal have always been a selling club. And Arsenal are clear that if Bellerin goes, it's always better that it's to a club not in the Premier League. Barcelona have been doing their work and they're very optimistic.
