Historic sponsorship agreement with the Barca women's team
They will have Stanley on their shirts after a three year deal
Barcelona's women's team reached an historic agreement with Stanley Black & Decker on Friday in Los Angeles. They now have a sponsor for the next three years, and even though the club did not want to provide figures, it is the highest paid ever for a female team on the whole planet.
"Today in Los Angeles, FC Barcelona and Stanley Black & Decker, the world’s largest tools and storage company and leader in engineered fastening and security, announced that the company’s STANLEY® brand is now the first-ever main jersey partner of the FC Barcelona Women’s team, starting in the 2018-19 season," said Barca in a statement.
"The historic announcement and event was presided over by FC Barcelona President, Josep Maria Bartomeu, Stanley Black & Decker Chief Talent Innovation Officer, Pradheepa Raman, and the entire FC Barcelona Women’s team. The deal, which has come out of FC Barcelona’s Americas office, further strengthens Stanley Black & Decker’s long-standing partnership with the club and a shared commitment to supporting women and women’s professional sports.
"This first-of-its-kind jersey sponsorship for the Barca’s Women’s team has set a new standard in the commercialization of women’s sports, one which will further fuel the growth of women’s sports around the world."
