Hector Bellerin waiting on Sporting over future

The Barcelona defender may leave in January rather than in June

Hector Bellerin’s time at Camp Nou could be ended sooner than expected. The player has been mostly frozen out and has the green light to leave Barcelona. His destination? Sporting in Portugal.

Pedro Poroo is leaving to join Tottenham for 45m euros. The sale is their second biggest ever, behind Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United for 60m euros.

Sporting need to replace Porro so they are looking at Bellerin.

It won’t help Barcelona too much in terms of salary margin as Bellerin had one of the lowest in the squad, although every little helps.

Bellerin has only played seven times, three in La Liga, two in the UCL and two in the cup. He has been on the bench eight times in a row in the league. In the Spanish Super Cup he was one of the discarded players.

The right back has been behind Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo, plus even Alejandro Balde on his wrong foot, and Sergi Roberto.

Barcelona will not renew Bellerin’s deal, which runs out on June 30, and bringing up his departure by six months won’t affect anyone.
