Ronald Koeman’s first XI of the season was eagerly anticipated. The coach mixed experience with youth for the friendly against Nastic on Wednesday.
The XI he chose was: Neto, Dest, Piqué, Umtiti, Balde; Pjanic, Sergi Roberto, Riqui Puig, Demir, Peque Polo and Jordi Escobar.
It was a big chance for Balde, the left back, who is hoping to be the reserve for Jordi Alba this season and stay in the first team squad.
Yusuf Demir was picked on the right of the attack, a player that Koeman has liked since he arrived this summer to boost Barca B’s squad. He’s alongside Jordi Escobar, another new arrival, on loan from Almeria.
