The youngster is highly-rated but behind Ter Stegen and Peña in the pecking order

Arnau Tenas (22 years old, Vic) will not remain at FC Barcelona. The journalist Albert Rogé has revealed that the club will not execute the renewal option written into the goalkeeper's contract.

Tenas's contract expires on June 30 and was one of the open folders that the club had at Barça Atlètic. The goalkeeper, captain of the B team, is currently playing at the U21 European Championship with Spain, where he is one of the outstanding players. SPORT already explained on Monday that the club had not yet executed the two optional years and intended to renegotiate his contract.

Finally, it seems that the club has closed the file and the stopper will now have to look for another destination. Compared to Victor Valdés, he has been identified for years as one of the best goalkeepers at La Masia. This season, moreover, he has played his best season with the reserve team, but the situation was complex.

At 22 years of age, and with Marc Andre ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña in the first team, he had no place in the senior side and his time at Barça Atlètic seemed to be over. His contractual situation, his contract expires on the 30th of this month, complicated the situation even more.

The goalkeeper is immersed in the U21 European Championship. Tenas is unquestionable for Santi Denia in goal and he is fighting for the position with Julen Aguirrezabala, who Ernesto Valverde has handed 15 games with Athletic Club's first team this season. Tenas will decide his future after the European Championship.
