The RFEF have confirmed the refereeing appointment for this weekend's final

Jesús Gil Manzano has been named as the referee for this weekend's Spanish Supercopa final between Barcelona and Athletic Club de Bilbao.

The game will be played on Sunday at La Cartuja in Seville, with kick-off at 21.00h Central European Time.

Barça reached the final after beating Real Sociedad on penalties on Wednesday, with Marc ter Stegen the star in Cordoba.

Athletic joined them on Thursday, with two Raul Garcia goals helping them win 2-1 against Real Madrid, who scored a late consolation through Karim Benzema.

Gil Manzano, 36, will be assisted by Ángel Nevado Rodríguez and Javier Martínez Nicolás, with José María Sánchez Martínez operating as the fourth official.

Meanwhile, José Hernández Hernández will oversee VAR operations for the final.

The Supercopa is being played in Spain this year after the Covid-19 pandemic rendered it impossible to play the competition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Spanish Federation (RFEF) signed a three-year deal with the Saudi government to play the competition there, with it taking place in Jeddah for the first time last year.
