Gerard Piqué will take a final test to see if he can play at Mestalla
He has an elongation of a ligament in his right knee
Gerard Pique is not 100 per cent ruled out for the game against Valencia at Mestalla on Thursday. The defender hurt his knee after a bad tackle in the Espnayol game on Sunday and has a minor strain of a ligament in his right knee, but he is feeling better and wants to play in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg.
With Thomas Vermaelen still out, Yerry Mina could be forced into a debut alongside Samuel Umtiti at the back. Ernesto Valverde is not prone to risking players but with the game of such high importance, Pique will take a test. The club do not know if he will be ruled out or in the squad.
An option instead of Mina is playing Sergio Busquets or Lucas Digne at centre-back. What is clear is that Mina will make his debut against Getafe - Umtiti is banned for that.
