When Gerard Pique is the Barcelona player who touches the ball the most, the team has a problem. The Catalan was the outlet with Roma's pressure and aggression in midfield blocking off other options.
Pique was not to blame for the first goal, which saw Daniele De Rossi's through-ball catch Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti by surprise, with Edin Dzeko creeping in to score.
Howeve the second was his fault, with Dzeko winning a strength battle against Pique, who then fouled him and De Rossi banged home the penalty.
The third goal arrived with Manolas heading home from a corner, the goal which eliminated Barca and made sure this was a night to forget for Pique, on his 100th Champions League game.
