Gerard Pique takes a dig at former Barça chief Josep Bartomeu

Gerard Pique spoke ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Bayern Munich in Germany and hit out at former president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Asked about why Bayern can bounce back from set-backs while Barcelona were thrust into economic, sporting and institutional crisis, Pique replied: “The management, it’s as simple as that.”

However ahead of the clash, he tried to be positive. “We can be here for hours and hours, but we have to look at the present and the future, there are things we can be excited about, and think that things will go well in the short to medium term. It’s not the situation we wanted but the team is showing some different things that we didn’t have before and we are incorporating. If we do things better and better, we’ll be competing, I’m sure.”
