Gerard Pique 'signs' Barça's Head of Brand for his company, Kosmos

Marc Carrion joined Barcelona in 2018 but will now move into a different sector

Gerard Pique remains heavily involved with his company, Kosmos. The president and founder of the organisation, which has re-modeled tennis' Davis Cup, among other things, has made an important 'signing' for the company, one which directly affects Barcelona.

Per information which has appeared in Palco23, Kosmos has appointed Marc Carrion, who until now had been one of the people in charge of pushing out Brand Barça across the globe. He joins the company as the senior marketing and digital director and will work on events such as the Davis Cup, which will run again in Madrid this year between Nov. 23 and Nov. 29.

Carrion, who arrived at Barça in 2018 from Danone as Head of Brand, was one of the people responsible for defining the club's strategy to position the club in all the major markets across the world.

There's a link with Pique, too. In 2013, he was in charge of marketing and communication at Kerad Games, the video gaming company which the Barça defender is also the owner of.

O.K. FROM BARÇA

Before confirming the appointment, Pique consulted the Barça board of directors about the possibility of hiring Carrion. The club did not stand in his way and gave him the green light to incorporate him into his company.
