Gerard Pique joked about asking Valverde if he could go up front

Gerard Pique scored against Lyon in the Champions League to help Barca reach the quarter-finals after a thumping 5-1 victory.
It is his joint best scoring season for the club, with seven goals.
The defender joked after the game that he wanted to stay up front.
“When I saw Luis Suarez was tired I asked Valverde to keep me up front, but for now he’s not that confident in me, we’ll see in the future.”
Asked about Barca’s Champions League chances, he said: “We’re not more favourites to win it because Bayern, Madrid and PSG are out.
"This country is very divided, there are people that undervalue what we have done sometimes, just as others undervalue it when Madrid win the Champions League. We’re not the favourites, those who went through did so because they were better.”
