Gerard Pique mocked Zinedine Zidane's comments by joking about the upcoming Clasico
After Barcelona's win over Leganes Gerard Pique spoke to the media. And he was asked about comments Zinedine Zidane made, with the Real Madrid coach saying his side would not give Barcelona a guard of honour at the upcoming Clasico at Camp Nou, even if Barca had won the league by then.
Pique said: "I won't be able to sleep," joking about the effect Madrid's snub would have on him as a potential title winner. An elegant way to say Barcelona couldn't give a monkey's over whether Madrid do a guard of honour or not.
"The truth is that everything looks good and at the start of the season we would have signed up for this," said Pique. "[Matching Real Soceidad's record] is not something that you aim for. You keep doing things well and when there is only a little way to go you mark it as an objective. It's a consequence of not having ups and downs."
